Racial Equality 2030: Ideas – Up to $90 million

Join visionaries, change agents and community leaders from all sectors and around the world

This is a moment of urgency. The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed inequities in health, wealth and opportunity. The uprising for racial justice in the United States has produced a global outcry. But the systems that perpetuate inequality and injustice have been created by generations. Racial Equity 2030 is a call to re-imagine and build a future where equity becomes a reality.

In honor of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s 90th anniversary, Racial Equity 2030 will award $90 million to organizations that invite, build, and expand ideas for transformational change in social, economic, and political systems and in institutions that champion inequality. For decades, the Foundation has been committed to advancing racial equity and healing, community participation and leadership – it’s the DNA – in its work on behalf of children, families and communities.

Racial equity funding has been part of the foundation’s grantmaking for nearly eight decades. In 2007, the foundation’s Board of Directors committed to being an anti-racist organization that promotes racial equity and healing.

The time for bold and transformative ideas is now. If you have the determination and creativity this moment demands, here’s how to get started.

Deadline for applications: January 8, 2021

General characteristics of the applications

The information required in your Entry is what is needed for peers and expert reviewers to sufficiently qualify and provide comments on your Entry without prior or external knowledge of your work. It is estimated that an Entry takes between 15 and 20 hours to complete. We recommend reading the application materials in their entirety, as well as the scoring section, before you begin. Given the global nature of the challenge, applications must be submitted in English.

Parts of your entry may be posted online and will be shared with others during the evaluation process. These include, but are not limited to, the name of the organization, the title of the proposal, the project description, the executive summary, and the video presentation.

Be sure to check your Entry as it will appear after you have submitted it (link at bottom of page) and confirm that your changes have been saved. When you have completed all the requirements, a message will be displayed on the screen. At that time, you can submit your final entry. Once you have submitted your registration, you will no longer be able to make changes and the status in your panel will confirm the submission (you will not receive an automatic confirmation by email).

You must submit your entry by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, February 25, 2021.
